My Bad Boyfriend – From romance to a thriller

Hey guys what is up welcome back to my blog I’m so thankful that you guys took the time out of your day to read my blog post. Hope you all are safe and healthy. Another story of the Blue String universe, no connections made yet but I want to say that this story’s tag was a bit misleading, you’ll see soon enough. MILD SPOILERS AHEAD.

The story begins with school delinquent Junhyuk confessing to Yujeong Cha and asking her to date him. In the moment, being timid, Yujeong agrees to date Junhyuk. After spending time with him she realises that he is not as bad of a person as shr thought him to be but Junhyuk has secrets of his own. He’s got enemies of his own and he has a reason to date Yujeong Cha. Their past connects them both and what begins as a seemingly innocent romance between a timid girl and a well being rough guy, turns into a thriller with revelations, violence and murder coming into play. Just what are the secrets that Junhyuk holds except from being a misunderstood bad boy ? How will these secrets affect Yujeong ? That is what you’ll have to read to find out.

The characters in this manhwa at first seem to be like common characters of what you’d expect from a manhwa like this, there’s the innocent girl Yujeong who is confused by the sudden romance in her life and is trying to find out the truth behind the rumours about the bad boy Junhyuk who is a mystery of his own. There’s, Juhee Seo the best friend of Yujeong. Mieru who is Junhyuk’s friend. Seonho, Junhyuk’s other friend and interested in Juhee. While at first I thought I knew these characters, the plot developed in a way which made me feel that I didn’t know anything about these characters.

The manhwa is really funny at the start when it’s all slice of life and the art is pretty good too but the manhwa has quite a few flaws that you wouldn’t expect from a Blue String universe manhwa. The first is that the fighting in this manhwa is not like the others so consider it more dramatic than action packed. There’s quite a few slice of life and romantic moments earlier on in the series but as the series progresses we move more towards the thriller part and the romance is nearly forgotten except for serving as a plot point. While the story that develops later on is very thrilling and exciting, the first few chapters are something that you need to bear but atleast we get cute Yujeong for it.

The manhwa really just goes with the classic, don’t judge people from what they are on the outside and it’s very true and it’s not because Junhyuk is someone who’s just very kind hearted and is misunderstood as a delinquent, we truly never know about his true character until after a bit further into the plot so you should give props to this manhwa for fooling you, if you do get fooled that is.

The manhwa is currently ongoing at 46 chapters and the the translations are slow but the story seems to have reached it’s climax but I’m not sure about that. This isn’t the type of manhwa that I’d reccomend straight away like all the other Blue String universe ones, you have to be someone who likes dramatic sequences in order to like this manhwa because the action is not very good but the drama and thriller parts are absolutely amazing and can keep your attention.
