It's been a long wait since a sequel was announced shortly after the conclusion of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles' first season in 2021, but now there's only few months left until the fantasy anime returns after today's announcement that Season 2 will premiere in October 2024!

A teaser trailer and visual were also released, along with confirmation of cast and staff.

  • Aishia voiced by Yuki Kawahara

  • Aki Sendo voiced by Marika Kono

  • Masato Sendo voiced by Aguri Onishi

  • Sakata Hiroaki voiced by Hiroyuki Yoshino

Based on the light novels by Yuri Kitayama and Riv, Hiroshi Kubo (Chio's School Road episode director) directs Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 at studios TMS Entertainment and WAO World, while Season 1 director Osamu Yamasaki steps into a supervising role and continues as series composer. Kyoko Yufu and Yasuyuki Yamazaki also return as character designer and music composer, respectively.

Crunchyroll currently streams the isekai fantasy series and describes the story:

His past life and current life are intersecting--a boy with memories of two lives faces his destiny! After his mother was killed at an early age, the orphaned Rio fought his hardest to survive in the slums. One day, he awakens to the memories of Haruto Amakawa, who died in an accident while dreaming of being reunited with his childhood friend, and Rio realizing he has reincarnated in a world of swords and sorcery.
